while out roosting birds tonight i took a couple shots of the moon. i thought they turned out nice thought i would share them .

The moon is a difficult subject. It takes a long lense plus a lot of experimenting to get the exposure right. This is one that I took a couple years ago with an Olympus C-750. It's a 4mp with a 10x zoom. A while back, some of us on another forum were sort of competing to get the best one. Then a guy showed up with an SLR and an 800mm lense. End of contest. That photo was so big & clear that you could count the rocks. Dick

show off ;D that is very nice . the pics i took actually are a bit clearer than they downloaded to photobucket i gotta quit doing other stuff while it loads on my dialup

I took that with a 4mp camera. I have a new Olympus E-500 SLR with 8mp that can't catch the moon as clear as that shot, or at least I haven't been able to do it yet. Most automatic settings will leave the moon as a bright blob so it takes some experimenting with manual settings. A tripod is a must. Here's one that I got with a 35mm a few years ago. It didn't scan very well, though, and is a bit grainy. Dick
