5/1/06 - I headed home from work about 7:30pm, and there were many fields filled with deer. It's interesting... some nights therea are no deer in the fields, some nights just a few here and there, and sometimes, like last night, it's like the deer everywhere in the county decided it was time to hit the fields! Man, I wish I could predict this! Just for fun I'm going to start keeping track of the moon during these events - 17% waxing, Transit time: 4:45 pm EDT. Weather was settled and seasonal.

1900 Thursday August 10. Moderate winds, cold front just came through with rain this morning. Temps in the mid 70's. Moon near full. Saw many deer on the drive home up River Road. Saw an ABSOLUTELY HUGE BUCK with nice rack feeding in a yard behind a private fence on upper River Road. Had spotted doe fawn walk out in front of the truck on Partnership Road (mom in the trees). I had to completely stop, and she just stood there bobbing her head for some time before spooking off the road.
