I've always kept an eye out for one of these for the last few years while hunting, not sure why. i finally found one, problem is its in a tree and i cant get to it. i tried shooting the branch with my shotgun but it was a no-go, although i did clear the leaves out real good lol. i'll have to take some # 8's and try again sometime . here is a pic of it, it has an antenna and i can see some componenets inside. the orange parachute is also there . here is a website i confirmed what it was. www.crh.noaa.gov/mpx/VirtualTour/Tour7.php here it is hanging in the tree, a rare find indeed

Now that is neat! Will they give you any type of recovery fee if you return it?

That is pretty neat and a real find in a full foilage tree. Were you hunting roosted turkeys? LOL

Rick, if you had a limb bender, you'd have brought it out with you the first day. Sure wish I could find some more of em for my friends.

i actually found it earlier before the leaves came on. the orange parachute is what caught my eye and then the white styrofoam box. i've been thinking of a way to get it down , its very near the top of the tree some 25 feet at least. theres only 1 string holding it up there too , i figured 1 shot with the shotgun would have taken it down but 5 shots later nothing lol. that limb bender is some kind of gadget , works great too. hmm gives me an idea on how i may be able to get it too . its up there a good ways though

the limb bender as it came has a range of 15 ft. It could be extended but it would take a lot to make me alter it. the limb bender is a device for use around the stand where sawing limbs isn't allowed. It is basicly a throwing hook with lines attached. What makes it unique is one of the lines is a 'let go' line, so it never gets hung up where you can't reach. I can be up my climber and snag a troublesome limb and pull or bend it out of the way and the the limb bender has a way it can easily hook and lock to hold the offending limb at bay. Works great for pulling limbs in close to the stand to 'hide'. I bought it from a vendor at the Dixie Deer Classic years ago and haven't been able to find another. Even wrote the company and my letter came back undelivered.
