Cotton gin about 5 miles from here generates so much trash each year it is in piles out back. It use to sit and compost on down to smokin rich dirt but it's become pretty popular since it's free for the hauling so it's rotting now and I'd call the aroma very ripe. Still, it composts down quickly from this point if I keep it watered. They'll load a truck but I only got a large trashcan full to put under the rabbit cages where I want red wigglers to take hold and also make some good compost.

It does make good compost. In parts of Texas we have to be careful if it comes from an area that uses defoliant because the residue lives on and can cause some problems. The pesticides and weed killers that are used are neutralized by composting for the most part.
