Here are some pictures of the 1969 Dodge school bus that we converted into a camper. Leave it up to a good ole WV hillbilly to do a camper out of a school bus. Here are a few pictures. This is the bus that we converted into a camper and my camper, the blue one. I hate that color! I got my camper about 2 years ago, but before it I and my in laws converted this bus into a great camper. This is the table area, you can also see two of the bucks in the back and the area where the bathroom is located. This is looking towards the front of the bus. This is the stove and sink area across from the table. This setup has served us well for the past 15 years or so. You can sleep six people in it pretty good.

What? the blue camper? You know I don't remember. I will have to get the title to see what it is. I just wish it had a bathroom in it, during deer season it gets mighty cold going from the my camper (the blue one) to the bus to use the bathroom...burrrr

Jirvin, sorry so late getting back to your question about my blue camper. I just dug the title out last night and it is a 1972 LEE camper, it weighs about 3000 lbs.
I hope sometime to get it home so I can do some minor repairs and do some remodeling. Rick has got me interested in doing some remodeling since I saw the stuff he does to those Apaches. LOL

Jirvin, just an update on the 1971 Lee (blue camper). It is no longer blue!!!! I have removed all Nascar stickers and the big 43 that was on the back and painted it. I brought the camper home from camp about 2 months ago to do some repairs. I had a roof leak right where the wall meets the roof. It appears that the old grey putty type caulk got brittle. So I have been working on it.
Now the camper is "Hunter Green" (where the blue was) and "Walnut" (where the red was). I have been working on the furnace and all the exterior 12 volt lights.
I am getting ready to repanel the insides and add some shelfs for storage.

Rick...if you have to get parts for those projects you worked on where did you find them? Internet? Local camping sales lot?
I was looking for some outside molding to replace that which joins the roof with the walls but can't seem to find where to get it.

i'm pretty lucky that a few places still handle some apache parts. i have looked beyond the realm of reality though at camper parts lol. if you have a picture of exactly what you need i may have an idea on where to get it. i dont have a rv salvage around here but sure wish i did.most of what i get is through the internet if i get lucky enough to find it.

Rick haven't taken any pictures of the trim I was talking about, and I have decided just to try and repair what I can.
I went to Lowes last weekend and bought 4 sheets of paneling some 2x2's, 1x3/4's, screws, panel adhesive and some silicone. Got the top repaired and sealed and have measurements and sketches drawn out for cutting the paneling. I guess this weekend I will start the interior repairs.

Here is a picture of the inside after I had some of the paneling up: The walls before were all painted white and of course with the leak there was mold and mildew. I cleaned all that off and started putting in the new paneling. Of course it isn't perfect, but hey it is a hunting camper. Have one more sheet of paneling to go and I will be done. Since this picture was taken I have paneled the cabinet under the sink and stove. The only thing that is going to be white in this camper is the ceiling. Still have the linolum tile to put down and the curtains to put in it. I already have the linolum and the wife is making the curtains. Bought some material from Wal-Mart...it is a material that has nothing but deer standing in the woods.
