What should I do to make sure the Apache is ready for an uneventful trip thru the mountains and back?
I already have a big tarp. ;D

1) Make sure the tires are good and you have a spare and something to change the tire with just in case . 2) make sure to check air pressure in the tires too. 3) repack bearings if needed or add grease if it has bearing buddies 4) a wrench to change propane tank if needed 5) load all the weight towards the tongue, I like adding a little weight to the tongue when going on longer trips. I've found it eliminates some of the "wiggle" at higher speeds 6) couple cans of silicone to lube all the moving parts ... lift rails, rollers etc short of soaping the gas connections which you should do maybe once a year just to check for loose or leaking fittings, just the regular hunting/ camping stuff

Seems like freedom has everything covered. Depending on where your going I would pack an extra tarp (if you don't have a crank out canopy), and a couple of poles for a front porch to keep the entry area dry to keep from muddin up the inside of the apache. If your trip is to Ohio I would really plan on this. We always seem to get rain when hunting is the best time. Not always, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
