Doesn't it just piss you off what they cost these days? I'm hunting with a 29 lb antique and have been wanting a new one for 2 years now. the prices they get are getting way up there... wondering how much beef i can buy with my hunting money . I really like the Lone Wolf sit and climb (17.5 lbs ) but they are $350 ouch, the summits are about $80 less but weigh in the 21 to 23 range. even on ebay they are getting full denaro out of them . at 46 a pound here and there makes a difference though.

You can find climbers cheaper. Hatracked found me one a year or so ago and I picked up another one cheap someplace on the internet.
The top brands are gonna cost though. kinda like hiring the best trim man. ;D

I look at a climber as one of the most important "tools" of hunting. I might buy some cheapy chain ons, but I bought a climber that will serve me for many years hopefully. Would you skimp out on buying trim tools, or would you spend the $$$ to buy the best and use them for many years? I don't envy boman's situation of buying for his boys.

I had a few climbers over the years and a few were good and not so good. I hunted with a summit last year and it was nice but the lone wolf really had my attention. I bought one this year and it is the best climber for bowhunting i have ever seen. I did not think it was possible to make a stand that climbed so quiet. It is light and packs down super slim.
I had plenty of good climbers for rifle hunting but havent used them in a few years because i dont hunt with a gun anymore. I got a like new buck shot last year from a friend and havent used it yet, I've been trying to get rid of it but around here we got a buch of lazy hunters that wont put forth the effort to hunt with a climber. For rifle hunting I like the buck shot best, for bowhunting I like the Summit and Lone Wolf best. If you use a climber alot its worth the money for the wolf. DaveHawk and Hatracked convinced me to get one and i'm glad I did.

You want to sell that buckshot? What model is it? I have been reading Boman's ramblings ( ;D ) on the buckshot stands for years, but I can't afford a new one. I bought a Summit Cobra and it is a good climber, but you can't have too many stands.

I will sell it for $115 and I'll pay for shipping if you want it. I don't know what the model is but here is a pic. I painted it camo to keep it from getting stolen if I left it in the wods but I never took it to the woods. The bottom part is camo as well but I did not have a pic of it. If you are interested I'll take a pic of the whole unit.

The model buckshot SC has is called a cadillac.
It is a gun hunting model (face the tree).
The one I use is called a bigshot. They are becoming hard to find.

Shucks SCtrkyhntr, I'm a bowhunter, and that stand won't do me much good. It looks pretty comfy though...almost too comfy....I might give myself whiplash from nodding off if I sat in that thing.

That's why I'm trying to get rid of it, I don't rifle hunt and it is always in the way. I may use it some this year to vidoe out of, it is real comfortable but I hate facing the tree.

After closely looking over all the treestands and features, without actual hands on experience, i like the lone wolf sit and climb the best . the buckshot and the gorilla are a close second and more reasonable than the LW. i also like the looks of the summit bullet backpacker. i like the flat folding of the backpacker and wolf stands. looks like funds are telling me i have to start the season with my Warren Sweat though in the end i think i will spring for the wolf 17.5 lbs and the flat folding may be just too hard to resist. hopefully by mid oct things will break on the spare cash end .
