just remember that most of the cheaper digital ones have slow trigger times, if you are putting them on bait, you will probably be alright, but on a trail you might miss the deer.
i use the ole walmart $50 specials, i think they are cam trackers, work good for me. thank god for 1 hour photo!!

I'm using the trailcam area of hunting stuff as proof that I don't buy everything I'd like to have. ;D

The 1.3 will take approximate 180 pics on one 6 volt battery. Now if you use a rechargeable 6 volt with a solar cell charger, for an additional 20 bucks, the battery will stay at 99% for 2 years. If you use the camera on trails, aim it in the same line of the trails. Works fine head on over bait. It has like a 50 pic memory in the camera, you have to take the camera back to your house to see the pics, or put a $12.99 64 mb SD flash card from Rite Aid Pharmacy stores, and it will hold 187 pics. Simply take the flash card out and put it in a flash card reader into a usb port in your computer and it will download the pics in seconds. I have 2 flash cards for each camera. Just exchange out the cards bi-weekly. Much easier and faster. The flash card readers are 20 bucks.

Hey Massive. Are you using solar panels on the cheaper ones? They don't have a hook-up for the solar panel do they?

you drill about a 1/4 hole in the bottom and the solar unit hooks on with alligator clips. I haven't used them yet but my buddy does.

have you had any problems with lag? from what i'm reading they have a 4 second trigger speed. thats about the only negative i can see in them at all. the cuddleback has a 1 second trigger speed but costs nearly 3 times as much, above what i want to pay for a trailcam. buckeye cameras are the swiftest with a 1/10th of a second trigger speed but cost nearly a grand , they also have the wireless hookup that sends the picture back to your computer when taken, if i had only won the lotto lol. i'll most likely end up with the moultrie 1.3 as it is right in my budget and i could possibly get 2 at that price throughout the summer.
