Hey guys & gals I have a favor to ask of you all. I,m going to get my buck mounted as he is the biggest ive killed. I dont really know what kind of pose i want and was wondering if you all would post up some pics of your mounts and some ideals on what to look for. Thanks

Here go through these here: www.vandykestaxidermy.com/subcategory/34/I'd request a catalog and study the pictures and consider how you want the animal and the antlers displayed. Which view and what aspects of the animal to you want to emphasize. For instance on mine: The straight on view doesn't look good, the one side looks great and the other side looks like crap. But here this looks kind of interesting, highlighting the uniqueness of the messed up side: But to get that notice how the head needs to be down and I'll need a pretty good right turn for that effect. Also here notice the neck: I want the form to try and capture that aspect of the animal. So just look at the various form and visualize your animal based on the form and start forming some opinions based on what you want to highlight. Hope this helps. But keep in mind that I've just recently started in Taxidermy, so my eye isn't that well developed.

I prefer to mount the head just as it was when i shot it but... it really depends on where exactly you want to place it in the room. I like to have the deer looking you right in the eye when you enter the room myself.
