Cabelas Super Mag Hauler www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/catalog/store-home.jspsomeone in Illinois stole my first one. It worked so well I had to buy another. Even better than a 4wheeler IMHO. A cart will go where atv's aren't allowed and that covers a good bit of what I hunt. I don't worry about this cart bending or coming apart or going lopsided under reasonable use. It's real handy but I keep mine folded and the wheels hid and locked up until I need it. It's a cinch to unfold and set up. Money well spent when the easiest way out ... is about a mile.

129 buckaroos wow, but knowing how cheap you are and seeing you bought one (twice ) it does look like a nice one. man they look so easy to make . if i could only see one up close.... probably spend as much making one.

Here's one a little cheaper, don't know how well it works though. www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=206354I made one by throwing a couple of Wheelbarrow wheels onto a hand cart. I'm sure the skinny tires will work better though.

I bought one a few years ago from BP, Think I paid $70 bucks for it. Very solid, folds flat and comes with nylon straps to secure deer with. Bowman's looks nice and may be a bit lighter than the one I bought, but I've hauled 25-30 deer out with mine and have not cussed it yet, so I'd endorse it. Just can't remember the name of it. It isn't the one made by API, I know that much.

There are several carts on the market that do a good job. I've seen many many homemade carts that have failed about halfway back. They need to be sturdy. I considered building one but considering time involved, I'm money way ahead to work and buy one.

Yeah on the one I made I already had the Hand cart and with the 2 Wheelbarrow wheels that can handle any load. It's just that if you consider buying even a cheap hand cart and 2 wheelbarrow wheels you're going to be pushing $60 at least and you're going to have fat tires that don't work as well on all terrain and you don't have the full weight of the deer over the tires, so it isn't anywhere near as easy. Lot easier than dragging though. In the snow I still have to use a sled, where as the guys with the game carts seem to do just fine with the carts. The other thing I would definitely go with the 20" tires.

i have a set of tires i use to roll my climber in, also got the bolts with bearings for the wheels. they look like just square aluminum platforms hinged together to me. i may have to just look at home cheapo first to see if any ideas come to mind. the tires i have are 16 inch i believe . i drilled 2 holes for the bolt bearings and wing nut the wheels on. 100+ bucks can buy some aluminum , but not much time. i do need one, i'm getting too old to drag em out.

What size axle do the wheels take, that you have?

I'm going to build one myself hopefully tomorrow. Thought I'd use an old bed frame, got 20 in.wheels off an old yard cart someone was throwing away. Not quite sure what to use for the bed to hold the deer.Thought I'd get a couple wheelbarrel handles so you could step in between them for easier walking. If I get it done maybe I can get a pic up.

Here's my home brew deer cart: I slide the ass of the deer up against the foot of the cart and tie the back legs inside the front legs, then tie the deer down to the cart.

The problem with the hand cart is that they mostly come in a 5/8" axle and most 16" and 20" tires come in 1/2" axle.

after looking at bomans , my tires are too small and making one is most likely out. now i have to justify 50 more bucks for the cabelas over the sportsman guide one. not much difference that i can see.

Rick, try the SG one and we can compare so next time one gets stolen, we'll know which way to go replacing it. ;D
Or... wait until you're near a Cabelas and you might be able to save the shipping charges. Shipping on these things ain't cheap.
