the lone wolf and a few summits are like 19 lbs, that is the lightest i have found. they also fold flat for easy carrying. a few with hand climber action instead of the sit and stand method are lighter than that, like 17 lbs i believe. i've heard the wolf is kind of narrow though. i wish they could come up with a 12 lber or lighter lol. call it lazy, call it old but carrying one for a few miles just doesnt do much for me anymore , cept get me real tired .

After 20+ years of homemade, deathtrap climbers,I went store bought.Tried about everything. Was going to go with the Buckshot Hotshot, but scored a NIB Lone Wolf Sit N Climb for $200 on eBay.Folds very flat, and totes pretty easily, but I see that they have upped the advertised weight since it first came out.Either made it a little more substantial,or got called out on their "Advertised" weight.I suspect alot of manufacturers knock a few lbs off the real weight. I 've got a few 9#,aluminum loc ons. That and climbing sticks, but the sticks are a pain if your going thru thick stuff.I usually hang the stand, then stash the sticks nearby.Dave

I have a summit viper and love it. I bought it right before gun season. It weighs in at 20 lbs. Very comfortable. Heck I recomend them. I bought mine a Dicks sporting goods for $220. I just looked on ebay and there is one on there for $150 with 5 days to go.
Eshore has one also, he might be able to tell you more about them since ive only had mine a monthe or 2. Good luck on what you decide.

You can convert one of your buckshots to an under 10 pound climber.

You can save alot of weight if you do like we did in the old days... don't bother with the upper section. You hug the tree, pull the lower section up, stand up, and repeat. Man, we were in good shape in those days....

I own several Summit and Ole'Man climbers. Ole'Man is out of business but you can pick brand new ones up on ebay for $150-$175. The fold relatively flat for packing, are very quiet and come in several sizes. I have the regular Ole'Man stand and believe it weighs 17lbs. A couple of my Summits are sub 20lbs but a little bulky to walk in with long distances. If you buy an Ole'Man, make sure it is the newer model that have the seregated teeth on the blades that contact the tree. The straight blades are the old type stands and do not bite like you will want them to.
I have heard a lot about the buckshot brand but have no experience with them.

Aro I looked every where and nobody sells a climber lighter then the lone wolf that packs as tight and easy. If you go with the hand climber you better do your opush up because it take a bit of strenght to climb at least my 220 .
I have a summitt viper I will sell cheap if someone wants it.
I am also looking for an old baker treestand if someone would like to get rid of one.

I actually did the hug my way up a few weeks ago,as it was with my brother's homemade, baker style climber.I was give out,by the time I was up the tree and set up!Oh well, just thru the Lone Wolf in the truck and heading out.Actually killed a small buck of the ground Wednesday-first time in years. But as I followed his blood trail, found a thick area tore up with sign, and BIG rubs.FRESH sign.Going back, and going UP.Dave

Take a look at the Summit Open Shot (17 lbs) or the Center Shot (14lbs). Both are under $200 and are extremely quick and easy to set up. The open shot has a slightly larger platform and seat. Northstar treestands also makes a couple of light weight and pretty compact models that you may want to look at. I recently purchased an Open SHot and absolutely love it.
