Still not officially scored, but hope to have it done soon, thinking it would be a nice birthday present to put a buck in the P&Y books. I had the mount done as a pedistal mount. Base is formed dirt, corn stalks and corn from the field I stalked the buck in and was able to make a 23 yard shot on. Several know the story, so I won't go into it at length, but the buck was recovered a few days after the shot, due to a combination of rain, bumping him after the shot in his bed, and shooting through his elbow. You can be your own judge, but it should see a gross in the 150's and net mid 140's.

While I tend to favor wallmounts, that one looks really nice. congrats again. You're building quite a collection.

Thanks guys.
NC, for some reason I wanted to do something different with this buck. I had considered a half-body or something of that nature, but thought about the buck being bedded and how a man could fashion up a pedistal mount to make it appear as though the buck was bedded. I think it turned out pretty good, but then again, it probably would look more at home if it were on the wall with the other Popes'.

That's pretty cool Bill. I doubt I could get the old-lady to let me put something like that in the house. Hmmmm.... I'm thinking more and more that I need one room of the house to be my 'hunting' room. Someplace all the mounts, guns, bows, and other hunting stuff can hang-out. Might have to build a room in the basement for this....

hehe if my wife objected, she'd be the one going to the basement. ;D Lucky for me my wife likes all the mounts we have. She actually mounted a lot of em. 11 deer heads, skins, birds, squirrels, a raccoon, some fish, antlers ... and don't forget all the bows on display. Hey, I live in a museum. ;D

if the deer head could be moved back a bit , it could be mounted to the wall. maybe just around desktop or waist height, sort of a hands on mount .

Bill I was so mesmerized by the beauty of that rack that I didn't even notice the table mount, right off. Very nice!!!
