i shot a doe during rifle season, this doe acted no different then any other deer. when we skinned the doe, we found a broadhead and 12 inches of arrow lodged between two ribs, angling upward into the vertabre, like someone had shot this deer from a hole in the ground, or i guess it could have deflected off something then hit the deer on an upward angle. heres a pix of the arrow removed from the deer. what do you guys think?

i can vouge for that one personally. the biggest buck i ever shot got away after i did exactly that. i was hunting isle of wright public, first time i was ever there. nov 3 1998 at 4:30 pm a giant 12 point came around the corner of the marsh. it was going to walk by to the right of me but being on the ground i didnt want to turn my body. i swear to this day i mentally willed that deer to turn and walk in front of me. on 1 knee i waited for it to clear a tree with bow drawn. as he cleared the tree i shot. it was really really close like 10 feet in front of me. as soon as the arrow cleared the bow it hit him, almost like it wasnt off the bow yet when it did it, i hit forward a bit in the front shoulder . i saw the arrow glance off the shoulder blade and go upward , at the same time the buck lifted his back leg and snapped the remaining arrow off nearly on my lap. i watched him go off knowing i got that mother . i waited an hour or so (mistake now that i have hindsight) and started tracking it. good blood trail but just dribbling blood no big gush. as darkness came i decided i wanted to wait till the following day to go get my prize. i waited till the following morning at 10:30, nearly 18 hours later, it had to be dead by now... so i thought. i approached the phragmites grass which i thought it to be in and to my dismay it jumped up and ran off. i wasnt ready and off it went, no trail no nothing. never saw the deer again . to this day i still see it, i still have the arrow it broke off on my desk to remind me . i can believe it..
