Wed I'll get out for sure as I have the day off. I may sneak in tomorrow afternoon if I don't have to work too late, just depends as I have a 1:30 appointment. I think I'll wear my base layer under my work clothes.
It's become a yearly ritual, and I've already started to get my gear square. Washed and refletched all the bloodied arrows and refletched the practise arrows already. Sorted out the ones that spin true. Cleaning one of my hunting knives presently. Yesterday I started going through the hunting room, sorting gear, cleaning up and throwing out. Next I'll get to getting broadheads cleaned up, blades replaced. I've already taken inventory of stuff and placed orders for things I'll need. Some new arrows, some replacement blades, I need to get zippers to the hip for my coverall, pain in the arse to get on in the field with boots, a bow scale, some of those Blazer vanes I want to try on the new arrows, some UBARs. And I like to do this here at the end of the season when my mind is still fresh regarding what I need. I'll get to tuning the XT with the new arrows, go through the stand and sticks make sure that's all square, although I went through it here just recent, but still got to check. I'll go over the Outback, maybe reserve the cable. Then this weekend wash and store the camo and put things square and away. Then we'll get to taking some deer meat for processing and get to working on doing the mount on the 7 pointer.
Got to make a date to scout out the 3 properties for the draw with my partner.
So there's still a lot to do, but I want to wind it down and get things square and get away from it just a little bit.
Any of you do similar, take any time away? Do a gear check?
