Lets say your on a out of state hunt , you have taken a week off and paid a substantial amount of money and you get to your destination get your gear together ready to make your first hunt of your long a waited trip and relize you left your licence home. Do you not hunt until you track down a place to get a duplic license or do you just head in the woods and get it later. Would you sacrifice a morning or evening hunt ?
What if it was a elk hunt and your in a drop camp with no way to get a duplicate but law requires you to have it on you at all times. What do you do??
What if it was a 5 day trophy whitetail hunt and you paid 2800 and it means throwing away 500 bucks to skip the first days hunt. What would you do?

first panic. it would depend on exactly when i found out. if it was the night before the hunt, i'm taking the next morning off and getting it straightened right out. if it happened to be the first morning just as i was going out, i'm probably going on out with reservations. it would eat at me as i sat there and i would most likely leave early and get it taken care of. of coarse with an internet access or a phone call , it can probably be taken care of. it would bother me and take away from the task at hand, i'm most likely to get it taken care of quickly.

i keep my hunting license in my backpack, and i never go hunting without my backpack, just so things like this dont happen. the few times i went out of state(actually out of country), when filling out your license and game tag, its a 3 ply sheet. you get a copy, the outfitter gets a copy, and the government gets a copy. as long as you have your license number and tag number, i can not see any dnr officer giving you a problem.
i would tell the outfitter, and have them handle it. thats what your paying them for.

Hypothetical questions are only meant to make you think, analyse and prepare for a possible situation . It is not meant to accuse or threaten anyone. Discussion enable's us to answers questions like intent, ethical or justification all in wich helps to educate.
I opologize if the hypothetical question is offensive to some, but it is a tool to learn from

I think that today it is not much of an issue. I would call my wife who would get on the computer and would download a copy of the license and have her call me with the license number and with that info in hand I would go into the field. I think that is reasonable and would hold up, if I was called on it.

thats a good hypathetical, but IMO, you really have to have your I's dotted and T's crossed when your hunting out of state, which means you sacrifice valuable time, Cuss like a sailor, and go get a dup, i would kinda look at it in the same manor if i had forgoten my broadheads or bullets, i have one friend that no matter were he travels out of state, spends at least 1/3rd of his trip, no matter how many times he goes, searching for one key item or another, thats one reason i no longer go with him anymore, because it usually cuts into my time, no matter how organized i am, i have found that before a trip, A long punch list is usually the way to go, then i constantly refer to the list, while hunting the hole time, even then there's somthing forgotten, hopefully its somthing small, and not going to stop you from hunting, but as you have mentioned, Time is so critical on the road,

I would lose it, but fear I would hear slanderous carp in the sites..I would bag morning hunt and find a place to get the replacement, or have wife overnight it...on a whitetail hunt. Elk hunt... i would fall on my arrow.

I know of a couple fellows that tried the "hunt now pay later plan"... ..and it cost them a whole lot more in the final outcome!! Matter of fact....a really nice 1874 Shiloh Sharps rifle could have been had for what they paid.....EACH!! Check the prices on those.....when you have time! Thank you......I'd wait and do it right! Oh....these fellows LOST HUNTING PRIVILEDGES in that western state for the next 3 years!! The judge "twern't" to happy!! The judge in effect told them this:
