I had my 05' buck officially scored on Sunday. I'm happy with the tally, but did figure it to be a few more inches. He netted an even 141". There was some shrinkage seen in inside spread, nearly 3/4" and several inches of deduction for asymmentry between main beams and several points, over 2 1/2" just on G1's.

I shot him during the last week of September and had the mount back the weekend before Thanksgiving.
This taxidermist does only deer and small mounts(yotes, bobcats, coons). He doesn't mess with fish or birds. Typically he can turn a mount around in 2 months and it isn't a hack job or bad work.

Nice buck. Did you shoot it in a cornfield and thats why you decided to mount it that way?

Honestly this is one of those cases where the score doesn't do justice to the animal. Esthetically that is just an absolutely beautiful rack.

tailbone, I did find the buck bedded in a cut cornfield with a steady rain coming down. I was able to stalk the buck and after some patience, was able to make a 23 yard shot on the buck.

It fell a couple inches short of my best. I took one a few years ago that scored 143 3/8". Definately would have been interesting to see how many inches he put on from 05 to 06, but I'm watching a couple that were 150+ last year that I know made it through our season. I'm hoping they get into the 160's and make a mistake to allow me to send an arrow and let the air out of one.
