Next year I'm going to be drawing on a few new properties and I have a pretty good chance of getting on either one.
On the one property while they didn't observe them all there were 4 mature bucks, 140-150 class in a group seen in January after the season. Lot's of P&Y deer on that one. On the other property there are not as many mature bucks, but there is one that has been caught on a trail cam, reported to be a 190 class deer, 12 point typical. He's been spotted on the property several times for 2 years now. He was not taken. Which of those 2 properties do you give preference to?

just based on your post I'd go where the 4 buck group was seen. They are likely to improve whereas the 190 buck may decline or die. 4 big bucks dispersing next Sept/Oct would likely put one or more in a killable position. personally while I'd surely shoot one given the opp, 12pt bucks aren't what I'm after. A 150 class 8pt is most impressive.

Ditto - go where there are more bucks. Hunting one buck is a very frustrating exercise, even if you absolutely KNOW he's alive (i.e. you've seen him). I hunted two specific bucks last season in two different areas in Maryland, and brought home no antlers. Close, but no cigar.

It's interesting as I presented this to my partner for these draws and he's a guy who has taken a 190 class buck with a gun, but nothing real good with the bow yet, though he has a lot of kills. He says to me, I've seen a lot of big bucks too, we got to go where we can kill em.
