I was reading my D & DH magazine the other day about shot placement. It made me wonder where the majority of the Bow hunters out there aim for their killing shot.Do you like to aim for the heart(low behind the shoulder) or a double lung shot?Personally I like the double lung shot because it leaves me a little room for error, but I wondered if some of you more accomplished marksman that have many deer under their belt like to go for the more precise heart shot? What do you all think about shot placement?

I want the arrow to pass through a spot right through the center of both lungs. Basically I'm aiming for where I want the arrow to exit so that it will pass through the center of the chest cavity. I really have no interest in hitting the heart.

Lungs. I usually just aim between one-third and one-half way up the deer, right at the leg crease.

It all depends for me on the position of the deer and the way that it approaches me.anything coming from the right is a definite lung shot. anything coming from my left i have my choice then lungs or heart. my reasoning is as follows: if i ever have a flyer it tends to go left since i'm right handed, its a rare arrow that i miss it to the right of the bull. so with that in mind anything coming from the right if i'm not spot on for a heart shot it hits the shoulder so i always tend to lung shoot these deer. if it comes from my left and i aim at the heart and its off some i still get lungs . i rarely anymore even try to take a heart shot its just easier to hit the bigger lung target for me .
