went turkey hunting this morning and walked up on a very nice buck in velvet . he had soda can size horns already at the bases and was over 8 inches tall already. he had 4 points so far , looks to be on his way to a very nice rack. i'll have to keep a special eye on him this year. i saw him and stalked within 25 yards of him and 5 others. 2 of the other ones were bucks but nothing like he had. he is obviously dominant because a smaller deer approached him and he reared on his hind legs and kicked at the other one till it got away from him. of all days not to take my camera in with me

If you are like me, you pack your camera and see nadda.
I've not seen a buck with as much growth as you report, but have seen a good number with 3-4" of beam so far. Usually by mid-June here the bucks have their main frames and points sprouted.

got a few pics of some bucks . the first one is narrower than the others and the deer is small. you'll have to transfer it and bump it up to see them better. for some reason i did this the other night (as in the second photo) but cant figure out how i did it ... i hate that. this one is two bucks that i did bump up the image and somehow saved it like that lol. anyway the one is well on his way to clearing his ears... the second biggest i have seen so far... who needs a stinkin trailcam , sneak up on em and take their pics . i also saw another buck behind the house in velvet and he appeared to be getting some decent bone going too. pics of him will come later with the trailcam .
