Ok through the years we all know that at one point the bucks tend to gorge themselves into gaining needed weight and strength before the rut happens. natures way of ensuring the bucks survive the frenzy of breeding. I wonder how overlooked this is and why it isnt more noticeable. do they start right now or is it only during late oct for say 2 weeks right before the rut. maybe this is why late oct tends to produce some good buck kills maybe they do this gorging during the pre-rut stage during some of the chase stage. I often wonder why this time of the year that they get in a feeding frenzy isnt studied or analyzed more? shouldn't this also be a good time to see lots more bucks in the open? anyone know of any studies that have been done on this before. we all know it happens but you would think it would be lots more noticable than it is ? what do you think about it ?
