speed mods and more tuning. all results are on the same chrono that originally gave me 272fps. 27" (cut down from 28" and switched to feathers)cx300's 365 grains total=296fps
27" acc 3-60's 390 grain total=288fps
i'll put my sts on tomorrow and shoot some. my shoulders a little sore right now.

That's over 71ft/lbs. How is the draw on that now?
BTW Is that 27" from the nock grove to the end of the shaft? If so PM me your address and I'll send you a couple of used 3-71s for you to compare.

Yeah those are 27 1/2", the ones I have are 27". How much does the arrow set in front of the rest at full draw? Do you have over a 1/2"? Maybe have someone mark it right at the rest prongs. If you have the clearance I'd be glad to send them out, I'd really like you to try them.

I like to have at least an inch beyond the rest at full draw.

"I like to have at least an inch beyond the rest at full draw."
I keep it about a half inch now, but with a TM style rest I used to keep it a bit more. Didn't want that arrow dropping in between the prongs. It's a good point, you really want to have a cushion there for safety.

i like my arrows out a little bit also. never know when the old index finger is gonna get in the way lol. that would make a mess sharp broadheads cut very deep.
