ok folks i will be sponsoring an assateague island and pocomoke state forest forum hunt. the prey will be Sika Deer and Whitetails.small game if you prefer that. ok here are the dates of the hunt. Oct 6- 15 . this covers 2 different weekends so if you cant make one date you can make the other weekend or the week in between. i will be taking a vacation during this time so i can take care of everything needed. make campsite reservations at the following link and make your reservations for pocomoke river state park, milburn landing campground. www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/eastern/pocomokeriver.html this is by far the best place around for a forum hunt, right onthe pocomoke river www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/eastern/milburnmap.html everyone is welcome to join in on the hunt. i would like to know who is planning on coming and when if possible. hope to see a big showing, you wont be dissapointed, but i cant guarentee anything but plenty of land to hunt on where lots of deer roam Rick

If I'm not mistaken up to six people can stay at one campsite in a maximum of two tents per site.
We should check the rules to make sure I'm right on that but I think that's what I read someplace at Shad Landing.
Anyway, those wanting to stick to a low budget should look into grouping together and splitting up the campsite fee.
When I was up there Milburn was closed but I'll be back shortly and will get some pics of it and check it out. It opened May 1st. I agree that it may be more suitable for our purposes than Shad Landing.

note to self; take minerals on next trip. those that have never been here will surely be dropjawed by the amount of deer sign everywhere you look. I concluded there was no 'bad tree' to hunt on the entire eastern shore. ;D

since we cant hunt on sunday is there any interest for an offshore tuna trip. it wont be cheap but would be a lot of fun would run about $250 a piece for 6 guys. or we could posibly get with another small group to make up 6 if we dont have 6 interested. come on nc you can find out what reel fishins about. you can even bring your fly rod ;D

Todd, thanks but I'd rather walk new deer country and mark hunt spots on my GPS for later on. I have several friends that own the big boats and am sure I could go free for the asking on occasion if I wanted. I'm a hunter though and my limited time usually gets devoted to the deer woods. Those tuna sure are tastee though. I gotta talk to my son about gettin us some more. ;D
